#100 & Fragile Handle with CARE

This is our 100th post!! SO exciting!!

So yesterday I was ordered/advised by my new doctor to try an eating plan/diet, in the hopes of helping my infertility issues. The new plan involves no gluten or dairy, sounds like fun!
This morning I decided to start my day off with eggs, easy and on the OK list. I reached into the fridge and in my dismay at being awake and attempting to cook at 6:40am, I dropped the entire egg carton on the floor. Unfortunately not one made it out alive. Now picture this, 11 eggs and shells on the bottom of the fridge and floor, a little messy right??? WHAT THE HECK. Without using 1000 paper towels how on earth are you supposed to clean up 11 eggs off the floor??!!?? My method involved a spatula and a dustpan, maybe a good idea if the dustpan doesn't get too full and drip out the back as you're escorting the mess to the sink. 7 or 50 trips to the sink later it was "better" but at this point it was time for the paper towels. I sprayed some cleaner stuff down first then mopped it all up and sent it to the trash can with final farewells. It was even more sad because those were eggs given to me by my neighbor straight from her backyard chickens! Thankfully we do have 30 or so eggs on hand for just such an occasion, and with the help from Dustin(retrieving them from the fridge) I was able to continue on with my gluten/dairy free breakfast.

We later left for the morning and enjoyed some time with friends. Upon coming home two hours later a strange and unpleasant smell greeted us. Did you know that raw eggs in the trash can smell REALLY REALLY bad??? Well, now ya do!

Happy 100th post to us:)

Cake adventure

Sunday night my sister and I decided to bake something. We got out my cookbooks and found an easy chocolate cake recipe and went to work. This was my first EVER cake from scratch, very exciting. Lori wanted to make cupcakes and I wanted to experiment with fondant so we compromised, she made one batch of cupcakes and I made one 8x8 square. Lori frosted and sprinkled the cupcakes and they were GREAT! I cut my cake into four pieces and stacked one on top of another with strawberry frosting in the center, making two little layered squares. Then I mixed the fondant with blue coloring and got this great marbled look so decided to go with it. The corners I didn't really think through, and I've decided I don't like the taste of fondant, but it looks really neat! I made two but this one's the only one worth documenting.

I also just realized this is a kind of a big post for cake. . .

Funny man

Damen lately really enjoys Knock-Knock jokes. I shot some video of him yesterday telling me this one. What a funny man!

Damen and Olivia

A few weeks ago Olivia came over for a few hours and this is primarily what she and Damen did:

One more photo frame

For my friends baby shower I made a shadow box for her. She just had her third daughter so I thought the theme was very appropriate.

Tower

When Dustin's mom was here a few weeks ago she and Damen got out all of the blocks in the house and with some help from Dustin made this tall tower for Damen to knock over.

When we were looking at these pictures he said they were his Dinosaur pictures. Apparently he was the big dino Damen knocking over the building!

YEAH pictures

So last week was a whilrwind of fun with my sister Traci, sister Lori, nephew Kaden and Traci's BF Chris here. We spent some time in a friends pool, at Legoland, at the Lake, with cousins and great Aunt/Uncle and just hanging out. Here are a ton of pics for your viewing pleasure:)
