Oh what a day

So today has just been, hilarously entertaining and I had to share. It started with lunch, Damen had fish sticks and tater tots, which now have to be dunked in ketchup before consumption, it's his new thing. Don't worry, he also had cheese and fruit. Since I finished my meal first I got up and went to the cupboard to get myself a chocolate doughnut, you know those mini ones. Damen devoured his meal and I figured he deserved a doughnut too (note this story has no nutritional value!). I offered it to him and removed his empty plate, at which point he began to freak out, hollering and reaching for his plate. His other "thing" is that he won't eat food off the high chair tray, it has to be on a dish of some sort. So I bring back the plate, as soon as it's within arms reach he tries to thrust the doughnut into the leftover ketchup. At which time I say "EWWWW" and again remove the plate. Again the freaking out, so I gave him a bite of my doughnut and show him how delicious it is, minus the ketchup. He finally gave in and ate his doughnut.
About an hour later I'm in the bathroom, taking my time, and Damen's favorite thing to do during this "down" time is to remove everything from under the sink, line it up, then put it back. I wasn't paying much attention, until he got very still and quiet, I looked over, he had lifted his shirt and was applying an unused deodarant stick to his belly! Very cute, there were three different kinds under the sink and he tried all three.
Later I put him down for a nap, he seemed tired. He was quiet for about a half an hour and I thought, great he's sleeping. I headed back to get some laundry from our bedroom and I heard this really strange sound, kind of a swish, bang, swish, bang. Very lightly and at first I thought it was coming from outside. Then I realized it was coming from my little "napper", he was reaching through his crib and opening and closing his dresser drawers!
Since it hasn't been an hour yet, he's still there in his crib, presumably going through his drawers looking for ketchup covered doughnuts, and not sweating a drop! (from his belly anyway:)

As an after thought I brought the camera in with me to get him up. Apparently he was also planning his escape with the borrowed toy bin.

GREAT grandparents!

My dad just sent me these pictures from our visit to Washington. Damen went up to my grandpa's to play with the chickens, he loved it! Anna May, Grandpa's new wife is helping Damen feed them in the pictures. And the other one is Great Grandpa holding Damen and Zack. SO CUTE!!

Brockton Todd Cheeseman

My good friend, Tiffany, after a long and difficult pregnancy gave birth friday at 1:02am. She was having some difficulty that day and was in a lot of pain, by the time they got to the hospital her uterus had a slight tear, which is a serious thing and she had a c-section. The baby is doing OK, he's in the NICU for now, he's having some trouble with his lungs. He was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long, not bad for being 5 weeks early. I'll put up a picture as soon as we get one. I can say from my personal experience that he is adorable! Thank you to everyone that has had the family in their prayers.

It's Monday

Not much is going on here actually, but I felt like we needed to update! I have this compulsion to not let our blog go un-updated for over a week, three days is even too long! So, here's an update: Dustin's got a new job title, Telecomunications Administrator. It was given to him by his new boss, and he's not entirely sure what it means, but it sounds neat! I've been enjoying the outdoors, weeding the flower beds and going on "walks" with Damen. Earlier today we went to our friend Rene's house where Damen got stuck under a bush, he was chasing the roosters, it was sweet except for the part where he got chicken poo all over himself. Damen loves animals, it's a little scary at times because he has no fear of them whatsoever! Even the mean bark at you and slam into the fence trying to eat you dogs, Damen'll run up to the fence and try to kiss the dogs! We had to get him out of the bush becasue he was backing the roosters into a corner and that didn't look like a good idea.

Here's Damen with Olivia, his best friend. They have so much fun together, this is Olivia pulling/pushing Damen around her living room. He tolerates her very well! Ok, I've updated and posted a picture so we're covered for a few more days!!

Visiting Washington

We had so much fun visiting the family! I completely forgot to document the chocolate party, but I can verify that it was AWESOME! I was actually a little bit overwhelmed with all of the sweet brown goodness, just a little though. This is a picture with all the cousins, they had a great time playing together!

From Left to right they are: Zack, Kaden, Damen, Robert and Nicholas. Cute huh?

I think the highlight of our trip was going to the Zoo. We've never gone before and my sister, Kari, has season passes so we all met up there. We also took along Kaden so the boys could play. The weather was overcast and cold, but the animals were all out and the kids had a good time.

As you can see we rented a wagon, it was pretty exciting, the boys all wanted a ride at one point and since Dustin was pulling we figured it was ok. Dang, aren't we cute?

I really had a good time shopping with Mom and talking late into the night with Lori, hanging out at the Zoo, and lets not forget, eating chocolate until I was sick of it! Damen got lots of cousin fun time and Dustin was excited about purchasing a gun from Dad. As fun as it was, it's always nice to be home, even if it is so far away.
